The spot
Mablethorpe offers one of the widest and flattest beaches in England at lower tides: shallow, forgiving and reliably windy off the North Sea. It is genuinely good learner terrain and rarely busy outside the school holidays.
At high water the sea reaches the concrete sea wall and the beach disappears entirely. Mid to low tide is not a preference here, it is a requirement.
